Just got back from that great Emirates deal and found a SD on using a local wireless carrier.
I checked out the Vodaphone and TIM deals and found that Wind actually worked out far better.

You still need an unlocked phone..

The deal was 20 Euros for 30 days (Italy and abroad), included the SIM Card,
100 Minutes talk and 2GB of Cellular data

While it didn’t specifically include texting. I rec’d several when signing up for local free WiFi hotspots on TrenItalia and other places.

Valid until June 7.
