Jetblue, American and United all have scattered dates on cheap one-way airfares flying to and from Los Angeles (LAX) and Orlando (MCO). Build a cheap round trip ticket by using these dates and plug into Expedia, Priceline or Orbitz to see which combination airline comes up for you.
Note: On American and United, fares will be basic economy. Basic Economy fare limits carry-on bags to one small personal item, such as a purse or laptop bag. All other baggage must be checked for a fee. On JetBlue, it is main cabin, regular economy. One of my sample shows JetBlue/United RT for $ 111.
United has round trip airfares travelling to and from Portland (PDX) and Orlando (MCO) for $ 228 including taxes and fees. This makes 1 stop. This is a Basic Economy fare. United’s Basic Economy fare limits carry-on bags to one small personal item, such as a purse or laptop bag. All other baggage must be checked for a fee.

Volaris is an ultra low-cost Mexican airline with more than 60 destinations in Mexico, USA, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. Like most low-fare airlines, it charges extra for nearly everything, from advanced seat assignments, to sandwiches to carry-on bags. However, they tout that for the same price of a bus ticket, flyers can save 10-25 hours on the road. time is money?
American Airlines[aa.com] have a very limited, low roundtrip airfare to and from Dallas (DFW) to Orlando (MCO) for $ 86, including taxes and fees. This fare works vice versa too, however, dates are limited on DFW-MCO leg.
