Syma X12 Nano 6-Axis Gyro 4CH RC Quadcopter

Syma X12 Nano 6-Axis Gyro 4CH RC Quadcopter

I have the larger Syma x5c-1 and a Parrot AR Drone 2. This is a GREAT starter quad! In fact, I didn’t really get good at the larger ones until I got some practice with this. It’s very, very small and light so you can fly indoors with confidence you aren’t going to break anything. The quad itself is very tough. I’ve even let my 4 year old fly (and crash) this thing and it’s showing no signs of trouble other than the blades starting to look a little beat up. Good thing it comes with extras.

Despite reading otherwise, the white controller that comes with this and the larger black controller with the LCD screen that comes with the x5c can control either of them. I use my x5c controller for this one because the longer sticks offer more control. Besides that, you can also sync to more than one x12 at a time and fly them both from one controller. My x12s ended up having extremely different lift rates so that didn’t last long but it’s fun that it worked at all. It’s also no problem flying two x12s at the same time with separate controllers as long as you sync one pair before you turn on the other.

The only real con is the fact the (tiny) battery can’t be swapped to extend fly time. The low price stopped me from dropping to 4 stars since it’s not a stretch to just get a few of these to extend fly time. In fact ended up getting two since they cost as much as a Parrot battery anyway.

The only other thing that can be considered a negative is it gets pushed around by the slightest breeze, including the extra airflow from an active heater vent or someone opening a door in a different part of the house. It’s really incredibly touchy. However, I’ve found that trying to keep this thing stable has really upped by skills with the more stable x5c.

I’m very likely going to buy more of these soon! Tap the link to find it>>http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N279HVQ
