Sale on selected limited edition boxed sets from Mosaic Records

Thumb Score: 0
Mosaic Records is something of a well-kept secret among jazz fans. Since its products aren’t sold through Amazon or other retail outlets, the label is not as well known as it should be. That’s a pity, because Mosaic produces some of the best reissues of classic jazz recordings. They’re a bit expensive (averaging around $ 17 per CD), but it’s usually worth the price, considering the quality of the product. The biggest advantage of Mosaic’s boxed sets is that they’re drawn from the original masters and usually feature the best transfers available. You might be able to find a cheaper alternative to a particular Mosaic boxed set, but it will probably have been produced by a "grey market" European label using inferior or stolen transfers.

Complete Pacific Jazz Joe Pass Quartet Sessions [mosaicrecords.com] $ 69 (regularly $ 80)

Complete Clef & Mercury Recordings Of The Oscar Peterson Trio [mosaicrecords.com] $ 99 (regularly $ 119)

Complete Ahmad Jamal Trio Argo Sessions [mosaicrecords.com] $ 129 (regularly $ 149)

I have the Ahmad Jamal box, and it is excellent.

Sale ends Tuesday 3 March 2015.
