Rotary hammers make quick work of drilling into concrete, masonry, brick, etc. with bits sized 1/8" to 1" and also make linoleum and tile removal amazingly easy. There are even SDS bits for driving ground rods, SDS Plus drill bits, chisels, and scrapers are readily available from everywhere that sells tools, but not directly compatible with 1/4" hex shanks, 7-Splines, or SDS Max bits. There are tool-less 3-jaw chucks [amazon.com] available. During operation, periodically dip the SDS bit in cold water to keep it cool and greatly extend its life.
