This is the approach I took and found that the Lowes.com email receipt itemizes each item and applies a discount to each item based on its percentage towards the total.
In my scenario the total was 250.85 before tax and coupon. After the 50 off 250 was applied to the order the Dremel Fortiflex dropped to 159.33 before tax.
