OK, first off, these lights are way over-hyped on ads, etc and no, it’s not some incredible flashlight that’s going to save your life, lol. But at $ 3 each, they’re great little lights for sticking in cars, toolboxes, etc. so you always have one handy. They use 3 AAA batteries, so could make use of those free 24-packs of Harbor Freight batteries if you have some laying around. They can also use a single 18650 battery if you make a small filler sleeve for it (easily made out of a strip of thin plastic from a soda bottle or something wrapped in electrical tape).

The nice thing here is that it uses 4 AA batteries (for all you SDers that have too many eneloop deals lying around) so you can get great LED performance without jumping into the lithium ion game. This light has dimensions similar to a cardboard toilet paper roll, so it isn’t the most compact thing, but it gives you a range of performance from night light brightness to light up the camp site.
