It’s good for your Raspberry Pi project to boot and store data to SSD. ( 2.5" )
Unfortunately, Raspberry Pi is very picky in the SATA to USB Cable spec.
Not all SATA to USB Cable works or is bootable.
At least, I can confirm that this SATA to USB Cable works for Raspberry Pi 4.

Micro SSD is good, but it won’t last long if you do lots of reading and writing.
BTW, this cable is USB 3.0. It’s good for Pi since Pi has USB 3.0

If you want USB 3.1, this is not for you.
