Over the years I have used Datacolor’s SpyderExpress4 to calibrate some of my displays that are, how shall I say, less than realistic. Today, I received an announcement for a new product, ColorReader EZ, a color matching device you can place on a surface that takes a calibrated color reading, returns the information to your phone and then offers close matches from paint manufactures. This is a lower end model of the ColorReader ($ 100) and ColorReader Pro ($ 250). The EZ is not quite as accurate on fist matching, but hey – it’s not $ 100 or $ 249
