From what I’ve read these have ST3000DM001, aka Seagate Barracuda 3TB, inside… lowest I’ve ever seen for these.

Notes:
These drives tend to have a slightly higher failure rate than the comparable WD Blue, but at half the price per tb and with a 3 year warrenty it’s worth the slight risk for people.
These run at 7200rpm, which means they will be faster and noisier than most external drives (which tend to be 5400rpm).
