Hello,
There have been a lot of posts lately for Windows tablets that come with a free year of Office 365 Personal:
- 32GB WinBook TW801 8" Windows 8.1 Tablet $ 106
- 32GB HP Stream 7 Windows 8.1 Signature Edition 7"
- 32GB HP Stream 8 8" WiFi + 4G Windows Tablet
Office 365 Personal allows you to activate Office 365 on 1 PC or Mac, and 1 tablet.
But…what if you want to add it on more than one tablet or PC? You can pay for another license or try the following:
- Download and register Office 365 on your tablet.
- Sign in to www.microsoftst
ore.com with the same account you applied/registered the Office 365 Personal with. You can confirm by going to your Office account [office.com] and see that it lists Office 365 Personal. - Once signed in to www.microsoftst
ore.com, go to the Office 365 Home page [microsoftstore.com] and make sure to select the $ 9.99 auto renew option. - Once you checkout, if you visit the Office account page [office.com] again you will see that your subscription has changed to an Office 365 Home subscription, which allows for up to 5 PCs or Macs, and 5 Windows tablets or iPads.
- While here, make sure to scroll down and turn auto renew off. Now you have 13 months of Office 365 Home for the $ 9.99.
Since this is a license, I don’t know if this is supposed to happen or a glitch so it could stop working at any time. This is great if you want Office 365 on more then one computer or tablet.
I have only tried this with a subscription that came with a tablet, so I’m not sure if it works for those that have Office 365 on the computer already.
