OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Purchases made at Verizon-authorized retailers or franchise locations are excluded. Please see merchant website for store information. Qualifying charges must post to your account before the campaign end date in order to be considered eligible. Excludes Enterprise & Government Services, and Residential Home Service (Verizon Fios) transactions, including internet, television, and landline phones. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not provided until after 12/31/2019, it may not count towards determining whether the purchase qualifies for the offer. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2019, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer

Costco: Verizon Upgrade iPhone XS $859 + $200 Costco shop card + possible trade 10/11-10/17 $659

Thumb Score: 0
Didn’t see this one on slickdeals but was pleasantly surprised to find this deal for Verizon on a shared family plan needing an UPGRADE.

They dropped the price of the XS to $ 859, and you can get a $ 200 Costco gift card even on an upgrade line. There is also trade available on top of that although I elected to keep my iPhone 6 with screen damage as a backup. A good condition iPhone 6 was worth a minimum of $ 100 but it comes as bill credits.

Assuming you don’t buy something you didn’t actually need at Costco with your gift card, that will bring your price of the XS with 64GB down to $ 659 (excl. tax, activation). Considering very good condition iPhone X 64GB sells used for values approaching $ 600 seemed like a no-brainer to pay just a bit more for a brand-new XS.

"…While Verizon used to charge $ 30 for all upgrade and activation fees (a common industry practice, and one of the many ways carriers have introduced sneaky ways to increase bills), as of Thursday, upgrade fees will be reduced to $ 20 if it’s done in-app or online, CNET wrote. On the other hand, it will now cost $ 40 to upgrade or activate in a store or over a phone, which Verizon told CNET is to justify some kind of "full-service experience." And the circle of life goes on…."
