The Rovyvon Aurora A23 Pro is normally $ 70 but marked down to $ 35 at flashlight-enthusiast-retailer Illumn. (Price appears in cart).
The Pro model has harder anodization and is made from stronger 7075 aluminum than the normal A23 which goes for $ 46. It has IPX8 waterproofness.
Choose between the cool white Cree XP-L for maximum brightness, or the neutral white Nichia 219C (the one I ordered) for good color rendering and pleasant tint.
The light can’t sustain its max output for more than ~1 minute anyway because it’s too small to effectively dissipate all that heat, and 1000lm is only about 10% brighter to the eye than 700lm.
