Been searching for a good camera for replacing canon t2i. Had decided to buy canon 70D or 80D refurbished but then came across sony a6300 for $ 999 with kit lens.

Compact camera is more relevant for some people, so if you are willing to change ecosystems from canon to sony, this looks as best bet so far on sony a6300.

First thread be gentle.. I attended PhotoCon 2016 in Los Angeles and they are having some decent deals. Tamron is selling their 70-300 f/4-5.6 USD Di VC lens for $ 299. Originally priced at $ 449-$ 125 mail-in rebate-$ 25 Samy’s Camera discount=$ 299 with no tax. All mounts are part of the deal, if they don’t have the lens in your mount in stock they will ship it to you for free. Sony is also having a deal for the A6300, trade in your old gear to Samy’s Camera for credit towards any Sony Alpha camera and Sony will deduct $ 100 off the final price. Sony are selling the A6300 (body only) for $ 999.99, when you trade in gear they will offer the trade in bonus of $ 100. Final price will vary depending how much gear you are willing to trade in and you know Samy’s Camera will low ball, also there is no tax. Pretty much a tax free event. There are more deals, but too much to list. When you attend you get a booklet about the event with all the highlighted deals.

Hi all,

I rarely post, but since I’ve been looking out for the last few months for a deal on the a6300, thought I’d share. Especially great for CA friends who get charged tax from most other than Adorama and B&H.

Adorama [adorama.com] has the body and kit lens for the usual price ($ 1148), but it also comes with a $ 100 Adorama Gift Card as part of their bundle.

Of note, they also have discounted lens packages with another buy option [adorama.com], but I already asked their help/sales desk, and you can’t have both.
